The entire floor protected with just a 10 cm overlap

PrimaCover self-adhesive protection fleeces are available in various types and widths. For smaller projects or localized work, a single roll is sometimes enough to protect the surface. However, if you want to protect a large area, lay the rolls of PrimaCover self-adhesive protection fleece so that they overlap. The good news is: a 10 centimeter overlap is enough to ensure 100% protection. We’ll explain how that works here.

Just the right bond

With a 10 centimeter overlap, you achieve exactly the right level of adhesion, even without taping the seams. This is because the adhesive’s bonding strength is tailored not only to the floor but also to the backing material. This has two positive effects on the function of the overlap. First, the strips of self-adhesive protection fleece stay firmly attached to each other, do not shift, and thus form a single, solid protective layer. Second, they provide protection against spilled liquids such as water, paint and latex. The 10 centimeter overlap stops these liquids and prevents them from seeping through to the subfloor. A single, solid protective layer thanks to a 10 centimeter overlap

With a 10 centimeter overlap, the strips of a self-adhesive protection fleece form a single, solid protective layer. This ensures that the surface remains equally well protected against mechanical damage, dust, dirt and debris. The edges do not curl up, so that the protection fleeces are not only safe for the surface but also for the people working on it. Pressing down on the overlap improves adhesion. If necessary, you can further secure seams subject to heavy traffic with a suitable tape.

Liquid-proof protection thanks to a 10 cm overlap

With a sufficient overlap of 10 centimeters, PrimaCover self-adhesive protection fleeces provide an effective liquid-proof protection. The specially developed adhesive holds the two layers of covering membrane firmly together. In addition, this adhesive layer forms a barrier that keeps liquids out. This prevents water, paint and latex from penetrating. As a result, you avoid damage, unpleasant disputes and unexpected repair costs.
